NSW; Investigation into kidney transplant scam continues
An advertisement offering illegal overseas kidney transplants to desperate Australianpatients is being investigated by the New South Wales Health Department.
A health spokeswoman says the department began investigations into the transplant scamlast week after the advertisements first appeared in Sydney newspapers.
The ads -- offering kidney transplants in South Africa for an upfront fee of $260,000-- have been condemned as illegal and immoral by government and medical groups.
