Fed: Labor forestry platform contradicts current agreement:Union

The nation's key forestry union says Labor's forestry platform contradicts the current
forestry agreement .. and the party will face voter backlash if it isn't changed.

The CFMEU wants a guarantee Labor won't extend protection from logging to more old-growth
forests.

National secretary MICHAEL O'CONNOR'S told ABC radio there's no need for more protection
.. because everything which needs to be protected is protected.

The party's Tasmanian community forest agreement protects one million hectares of old-growth
forest.

Labor's forestry spokesman .. KERRY O'BRIEN .. says a final decision on the platform
will be made when Labor has its national conference at the end of the month.
