Fed: Border protection still tough: Evans=2
Opposition immigration spokeswoman Sharman Stone said there had been a flurry of boats
attempting to come to Australia since the Rudd government relaxed its asylum seeker policy.
"I refer the prime minister to the recent surge in the number of boat people attempting
to reach Australia," she said during question time in parliament on Monday.
She said there had been seven confirmed boat sightings since Labor changed its policy in August.
