DMR Demonstrates Business Applications Built On Microsoft Enterprise Technologies at Microsoft Scalability Day.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 1997--

-- Applications showcase Microsoft SQL Server, Transaction

Server, IIS, and Exchange use in business-critical environments --

DMR Consulting Group, Incorporated., Amdahl's professional services company, today demonstrated a number of business applications constructed with Microsoft enterprise technologies as part of Microsoft Scalability Day. The applications were built with, among other tools, Visual Basic, and featured Microsoft SQL Server, Transaction Server, Internet Information Server, and Exchange Server. DMR is increasingly architecting solutions involving Microsoft technologies, and has become a significant Microsoft systems integration partner.

"We are delighted that DMR has selected Microsoft applications to provide a new wave of business applications to its customers," said Deborah Willingham, VP, Enterprise Customer Unit, Microsoft Corporation. "DMR use validates the enterprise readiness of our platforms and products."

DMR shares part of the Amdahl booth at Scalability Day, running demonstrations on the Amdahl EnVista NT Server platform. The demonstrations cover multiple aspects of today's enterprise computing environment, including data warehousing, enterprise messaging, and transaction processing.

DMR demonstrates DATAWORX-Comm, a data warehouse designed specifically for the telecommunication and cable industries. It is an information framework for telecom industry decision-makers, providing market, product, and customer data needed for sales and marketing professionals to create and implement critical programs. The application includes industry demographics; integrated data analytics; sales and marketing models; Meta model, transformation and load processing, and Microsoft SQL Server DMBS.

Also being demonstrated by DMR is a messaging integration and directory synchronization solution. Using LinkAge Software's Message Exchange, DMR showed full integration of a Microsoft Exchange messaging environment with a Lotus Notes environment. High fidelity message transmission, including support for rich text and attachments demonstrates DMR's methodology for consistent and successful implementation of messaging infrastructure projects. Based on Microsoft enterprise technology, the DMR solution integrates most popular internal PC LAN, client-server and mainframe messaging environments. External connectivity to Internet mail and X.400 is also supported.

Demonstrating transaction processing, DMR highlights an OLTP Internet application integrating Transaction Server and IIS. Again based in the telecommunications industry, the demonstration featured a fictitious telecom service provider. Customers can add or modify their telecommunications services directly via Web browser. if the customer requests live interaction with a service representative, the application automatically forwards all the information entered to date to the representative, along with a message that he must call the customer as soon as possible.

"We are pleased to support Microsoft Scalability Day with a series of real world business applications that showcase Microsoft's ability to provide software that scales today," said Ian Tait, a Director of DMR Consulting Group. "We look forward to continued close ties with Microsoft as we provide real solutions to our enterprise customers."
